  • Brickmania Display Cycle: The Monster Trucks collaboration continues to run through March, with teardown planned ahead of BrickFair Fredericksburg. Looking ahead, “Wicked” builds are scheduled to take over from March through May, bringing a fresh visual theme to the space.

  • Potomac Mills Cubby: The display remains active, with CMF go-karts being installed following the meeting—adding a fun, dynamic element to the rotation.

Business and Event Follow-Ups

February included both administrative updates and follow-through on recent initiatives:

  • Member Handbook Update: Brent led a follow-up vote on updated language regarding voting procedures, continuing efforts to refine club governance.

  • Pohick Library Event Recap: Members discussed the recent event, sharing feedback and lessons learned from this successful community engagement.

Spring is shaping up to be a busy season for NOVA-LUG:

  • Claude Moore “Battle of the Bricks”: Anthony is helping coordinate participation, with members encouraged to get involved.

  • Awesome Con: Hamilton and Benjamin are leading efforts for this major convention appearance.

  • Sterling Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet: Tanner is coordinating participation in this community-focused event.

  • Townhouse Display Retheme: Early discussion began around a possible St. Patrick’s Day refresh, continuing the seasonal evolution of the townhouse builds.

Collaboration Updates

Several collaborative projects are entering key transition phases:

  • “Wicked” Collaboration: The display has officially been removed, with Brent and Joshua coordinating next steps and future appearances.

  • NPS Mosaic and Habitats: Progress continues, with frame files now available. The group is seeking a volunteer to finalize and standardize the approach for broader participation.

  • Fantasy Collaboration: Final preparations are underway for its “swan song” at BrickFair Fredericksburg, led by Tanner, Timothy, and Ben.

  • Fairfax 250 Collaboration: Ben R. shared updates on this developing project, which continues to take shape as a future large-scale display.

  • Ninjago Parts Draft: Members participated in a themed parts draft, adding useful and unique elements to their personal collections while enjoying a collaborative building experience.

Monthly MOC Challenge

Creativity was on full display as members wrapped up January’s challenge and kicked off a new one:

  • January Challenge Recap: Book Scenes Members showcased their builds during Show & Tell, followed by a builder vote and prize for the winner. The challenge produced a wide variety of literary-inspired creations, many suitable for library displays.

  • February Challenge: FebRovery! This month’s theme focuses on wheeled and tracked vehicles, encouraging builders to explore motion, mechanics, and rugged design.
